Daily jockey and trainer tracking

Historical records tell you what a jockey has achieved.

But what about today?

1. Follow today's jockey progress

HRBC's Today's J/T Progress tool follows jockey performances throughout the selected racing day, updating as race results become available.

See:

  • Total rides scheduled.
  • Races completed.
  • Winners so far.
  • Placed horses so far.
  • Current win percentage.
  • Current place percentage.
  • Number of rides remaining.
  • The horses they are riding throughout the day.

For example, our screenshot shows Shane Foley with six rides scheduled, four completed, one winner, two places and two rides remaining.

You can see his completed races alongside the horses he is still due to ride.

See who's winning, who's placing and who's still got opportunities ahead.

2. Track today's trainers and partnerships

The daily progress report isn't limited to jockeys.

Switch between three views:

Jockeys — follow individual riders throughout the day's racing.

Trainers — examine each trainer's runners, results and remaining engagements.

Partnerships — investigate jockey and trainer combinations appearing on the day's racecards.

Each view brings together completed results and outstanding races, helping you identify interesting developments as the day unfolds.

A trainer might have already saddled two winners. A jockey and trainer partnership might be enjoying a particularly successful afternoon.

HRBC allows you to investigate their remaining runners while that information is still relevant.

Follow the people behind the horses, not just the horses themselves.

3. Find patterns as the day unfolds

Imagine a jockey has already won twice from three completed rides.

They have another two rides scheduled later in the afternoon.

Would you want to know?

Or perhaps a trainer has several runners at one racecourse and is enjoying a successful day.

HRBC makes it straightforward to identify these situations.

Review:

  • Who has been successful so far.
  • Which jockeys and trainers have multiple engagements.
  • How many opportunities remain.
  • Whether particular partnerships are producing results.
  • Which horses are involved in their upcoming races.

You can also filter the daily report by racecourse and race code, or search for a particular jockey or trainer.

These patterns can highlight runners worth investigating.

Spot something interesting. Follow the evidence. Make your own assessment.

4. Jump directly to the next race

Discovering an interesting jockey or trainer is useful.

Being able to investigate their next runner immediately is even better.

HRBC lists the horses associated with each jockey or trainer, including their scheduled race times and racecourses.

Completed engagements are clearly distinguished from those still to come.

Click an upcoming horse or race to move directly to its racecard.

From there, you can investigate:

  • The horse's RFMS and RSPD rankings.
  • Its recent form and race comments.
  • The jockey and trainer.
  • Previous performances under today's conditions.
  • The other runners in the race.
  • Side-by-side horse comparisons.

Find a pattern. Find the next runner. Investigate the race.

5. Explore previous racing days

Today's results are interesting, but you might also want to examine yesterday's racing or another date.

The daily progress tool includes Previous day and Next day navigation.

Move between racing dates to investigate jockey, trainer and partnership performances.

Review completed racing days or return to today's action to see how results are developing.

The report also displays when its information was last updated, so you can see how current the figures are.

Open Today's J/T Progress from the racecard to see how those jockeys and trainers are performing today, identify their remaining engagements and jump straight to another racecard.

The recent four-week records for a jockey, a trainer or a partnership are in Jockey and trainer.
