On Your subscription, choose Change package and a higher package. Upgrade now charges the extra amount from today until the renewal date you already have. That date stays the same. The higher package starts only after the extra payment succeeds. If it fails, the current package stays. Upgrade at the next renewal charges nothing today. The current package remains until that date, and the higher package starts then. The amount and the date are shown before you confirm.

A lower package starts at the next renewal, not today. You keep the package you have paid for until then. There is no refund and no credit for the unused time. At renewal, the lower package is charged at its price.
